Caol Ila - distilled 1975 - 21y - bottled 04.1997 21y Rare Malts – 61,3% scores: whiskybase – 90/152 (wb3437) malt maniacs - -- serge valentin - 87 our own rating: see below Nose: Citrus at first, some fuels and smokiness coming threw, lots of oiliness, fire oil barrels, but also shortbread and a fruity side (mango, flowers and banana), a pinch of salt. Palate: Starts of with floral sweetness before it explodes into smoke.
